As you might expect, the Knightsbridge home of Roland Emmerich, director of blockbuster hits Independence Day, Godzilla and Stargate, is like a film set inside — and just the job for a fascinating short let.

From outside, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom house appears much like its neighbours.

Inside, however, you’ll find huge murals of Saddam Hussein and Chairman Mao among the quirky artwork and bespoke furniture.

From a life-size zebra statue to a waxwork of Pope John Paul II sitting under the stairs and a study room with blackboard floors and ceilings, there are so many unusual touches.

KFH lettings manager Daniel Bickerdike says: “Residents will be equally challenged, fascinated and entertained by the décor.”

The rent is £8,000 a week but this house is unique — and it’s in SW3.
